In our fast paced world of 'instant downloads', 'fast food' and 'same day shipping', it's easy to feel that time is flying by without you having much control.
However as we make decisions and choices intentionally, we quickly realise that we are the pilot of our own destiny. It's good to consistently evaluate your decisions using the question 'Is what I'm doing taking me in the direction I want to go?'
This question is especially useful when you find yourself facing a 'Major Decision' or 'Life Choice'. Sometimes, you might be presented with an amazing opportunity that doesn't necessarily take you in the direction you want to go.
Several years ago, my husband was offered a job supervising teams of landscapers across Australia to renovate and upgrade childcare centres? This was an amazing opportunity that was paying well above anything we had ever experienced, however it would mean constant pressure with crazy deadlines and lots of time away from home.
However the decision became very simple when we asked ourselves the question "Is this taking us in the direction we want to go?" No it didn't, as we had just moved into our dream property on 28 acres out the back of Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast, and so we politely declined the offer.
The moral of this story? Always remember 'You're the Pilot', so make decisions and choices that will take you in the direction you want to go!
