The one key lesson that the whole book 'The Success Principles' by Jack Canfield is based on, is that there is only ONE person responsible for the quality of the life you live - and that person is you!
If you truly want to be successful, you have to take 100% responsibility for everything that you experience in your life. This includes the level of your achievements, the results you produce, the quality of your relationships, the state of your health and physical fitness, your income, your debts, your feelings - everything!
What the??? I was certainly not expecting this wake up call so early in the book! You see most of us (including me) have been conditioned to blame something or someone outside of ourselves for the parts of our life that we don't like. We blame our parents, our boss, our friends, our co-workers, our partner, the weather, the economy, the government, the pandemic and the list goes on.
Well boy what a challenge this has been for me this past week! For me taking 100% responsibility means I can't blame anyone or anything else for putting on 15kgs over the last 4years. It means taking responsibility for choosing junk food over healthy food and then binge eating because I had already messed up for the day, so I can always start again tomorrow - 2 sizes later!
It means committing to not blaming anyone or anything outside of myself! You see....part of me really wants to continue to play 'the blame game', but I realised that if I want to grow, I need to tackle this giant head on!
Would love to know what taking 100% Responsibility means for you.
